To Serve and Protect ?

It is essential that instead of just focusing on trying to deal with crime by hiring and encouraging an increasingly brutal police force, that we start to focus on the causes of increased crime rates, namely a break down in community values. If  we do not address the fundamental causes of the problem, the general public is going to be come increasingly willing to put blind faith in aggressive reactionary policing policies.

This is not just a policing problem, this is a social problem.

  All citizens should have equal access to legal representation. It is un just that people who can afford lawyers are more immune from litigation than people who can't afford representation. Money should not be a discriminating factor in the eyes of the law.
